Mr. Milton E. Jenkins
612 Court Street #1
Sioux City, Iowa 51101

Dear Mr. Jenkins:

Thank you for taking the time to communicate with me. As your Senator, it's important for me to hear from you.

I appreciate hearing your thoughts on S. 2892 The Economic Security Act of 2002. As you may know, on November 14, 2002 the Senate passed a three month extension of the current extended benefit program, but the House of Representatives failed to act before they adjourned to end the session. I along with Senator Nickles of Oklahoma and Senator Clinton of New York negotiated to continue payments in order to prevent people from being cut off from aid in December and to allow us to reexamine the issue during the next Congress.

While we in Congress reexamine this issue next year I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I appreciate hearing your views and urge you to keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Grassley
United States Senator
