MAKE AN

APPOINTMENT NOW!

On December 20, President George W. Bush signed an executive order blocking a strike at United Airlines. His action sets the stage for Congress to become involved and forcibly impose a contract on thousands of IAM members at United Airlines.

If this President and his allies in Congress can set such a precedent at United Airlines, they won’t stop there. Your right to bargain, your right

to vote on a contract and your right to strike are under attack – whether or not you work for the airlines or in any other industry.

So it’s time to fight back ... to react like the Fighting Machinists we are.

IAM members are being asked to make an appointment with their

Senators and representatives in Congress. Over the next three weeks, IAM members should seek a specific commitment: Congress will not impose a contract on employees of a private company.

IAM officers and shop stewards can provide information on how to make an appointment and what to say when you get there. Or check the IAM website at www.goiam.org for more information.

Make it clear to Congress your right to bargain, your right to vote on a contract and your right to strike are absolutely essential to your future.

Make an appointment now!
